I Love Poppies!

When I was younger, my father bought me a painting - my first! It is a beautiful oil paiting of poppies. It has always hung in my house, and since then I have acquired a few more paintings and silk poppies that decorate my living room. Today's SCS Color Challenge (Riding Hood Red, Going Gray, Green Galore) was perfect for this new set I got from Flourishes yesterday.

And I was inspired by this painting that is in my living room (one of a few - and this is not the one my dad gave me!):

I wish I had remembered to spatter my card, but I didn't, so it will have to stay the way it is!

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you are enjoying the beautiful fall day! A little fall recipe is coming your way later today!

Paper: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Basic Grey Black Tie DP, SU! Watercolor

  4. I love poppies, too. I have done several embroideries with them over the years -each time I give it away and I still have the last one I did unframed. So not given away yet, LOL, but not on the wall.
I like both yours, the picture and the card. I really liked the colour *shdows* or whatever I should be calling them.

  5. Oh yes, Poppies are lovely. Love the painting and your card, too! I have a couple of poppies (not oils)framed in my living room, as well. Mostly, I look forward to pasting a giant set of three poppies (it's like wallpaper) on the wall of my new home. Hey, your painting would look tremendous with that, LOL.

  8. Judy, this is the closest to your email I could locate to thank you for the folded card tutorial. Love the poppies, too! Coloration and shadowing make the eye curious to scan the entire mat. Super! Wanted something different for the next soldier cards, the tutorial did the trick! and a fallish October birthday card doubly blest the tutorial effort in non-t or t fashion. Abundant blessing. In this frame, would you be so kind as to email me regarding creative stamping Christian sisterhood at mt23stamper@yahoo.com? I have been seeking an outlet combining Christian ethics, Scripture, service in Jesus' Name and good ol' creative ideas. Sharing and serving others with sparkle makes others realize the Glory is not ours, but HIS. How I appreciate your taking the time to email. Thanks bunches.
