Celebrate Those Resolutions!

It's Friday Friends With Flair at Unity Stamp Co., where addicted customers show off their Unity creations!

Visit the Unity blog to see the list of participating blogs in the hop today and what Friends With Flair is all about. You might win some Unity! The hop begins around 10AM CST.

I also made this for today's Splitcoast Free For All Challenge 45 . . . Celebrate Those Resolutions.

I made this card using the August KOTM from Unity. One of my resolutions is to travel more and see more of the country. I also want to be on my bike 30 minutes every day - today it would be the recumbent bike, as the snow is coming down fast! But I also love riding my bike around town - we have a great trail that goes for miles. And sometimes I like to try to stamp more simply than I do.

Thanks for looking and Happy New Year to all my stamping friends!

Silver Dragonflies Don't Like Snow Storms

Oh the calm before the storm! I was so hoping to pick up my virus-free computer tomorrow -- but we are supposed to be up to 7 inches of snow starting at midnight tonight.  My sister is supposed to fly out of here back home to Arizona tomorrow afternoon --- don't see either of those things happening! But I can stay cozy in my house and stamp room! We have lots of wood ready to go.

Today the Splitcoast Ways To Use It Challenge was "Sterling Silver."  We could use silver in our creations any way we liked.

I used Dragonflies at Dusk by Rubber Stamp Tapestry for my card today. It is such a sweet set, with several different dragonfly images. The sentiment is Think Happy Block Stamp, also by RST.

My silver metallic paper is by Prismatics, the silver hardware is Hodgepodge Hardware by Stampin' Up! and I used Silver and Diamond Stickles on my stamped dragonfly wreath.

You can click on the photos for a great close-up!
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the last day of 2010!

Little Princess

My little princess is a senior in high school this year.  Time really goes so quickly when you don't want it to!  Although she is a redhead now, this cute little ballerina image reminds me of her.

I used the Splitcoast Sketch Challenge 313 for my layout.  We were to make a rectangle and then cut out of the box. I used images from Daddy's Princess by Sparkle N Sprinkle. The tutu has Bubble Gum glitter added to it for sparkle! Click on the picture for a close-up!

Last night we had a beautiful wedding reception for my son and his bride of almost three months.  They were married in North Carolina, where they now live, but he grew up here in Nebraska, so there were a lot of people here that wanted to wish them well.  It was a very nice time and a lot of fun. I was sure tired last night though!

Today I take in my computer to see how long it will take to get it fixed --- hope not too long. Enjoy the last days of 2010! Thanks for stopping by today.
I am also entering my card in these challenges:
For Fun - anything goes
CES - anything goes
Moving Along With The Times - anything goes (except Christmas)

Stamps: Daddy's Princess by Sparkle N Sprinkle

It's Teapot Tuesday! And I Have Jester Note For You!

I love the creativity of my friend, Cindy.  She brings a ton of joy to people every week on Splitcoast, but especially on Tuesdays, when she hosts the Mothermark Teapot Tuesday Challenge. It's crazy and zany and so imaginative! Cindy also has a huge heart, and directs challenge players to send their cards to someone that needs a lift.  To read about the Challenges, click HERE. To understand my post today, click HERE.

Jughead Jester figures that there must be some kind of entertainment other than food flinging at this gathering, so he is coming to the tea party to provide some. And besides, he got a glimpse of Simone, and wants to impress her with his juggling!

He wore his special red and purple hat and costume just for this occasion. Had it made specially, even.
He actually figures that Simone won't give him a second glance, but hopes that Joyce will!

My images are by Hambo Stamps. I stamped them in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored in with Copics and Spica Glitter pens.  The chipboard heart was colored with VersaColor Cardinal Red and then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. Click on the picture below to see the sparkle!

Thanks for stopping by today! I have a wedding reception to get together for tonight for my son and daughter-in-law, who are visiting for a few days from North Carolina!  (Oh, and my computer will need over $100 worth of work to destory the virus and access my info.....yay.......!)

Stamps: Hambo Stamps
Paper: PTI White, Real Red, Lovely Lilac, DP by The Paper Studio
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics, Spica Glitter pens, VersaColor Cardinal Red
Accessories: red gems, Cuttlebug EF, Spellbinders scalloped circle die, large oval punch, chipboard heart, Clear EP, purple grosgrain ribbon

Island Beauty - Wish I Was in Hawaii!

For Sunday's Splitcoast Featured Stamper Challenge 203 . . .

Congratulations to Leisa Jane! She has a most delightful gallery, with so many beautiful cards to choose from. I finally decided on this one to case (copy and share everything). I changed colors, images, bow placement, and substituted sponging for sewing.

My images are from Island Beauty by Rubber Stamp Tapestry. This is a set designed to be stamped on fabric, but it is also so very pretty on paper.  CLICK HERE to see all of the awesome fabric sets that RST carries.

Thank you for looking and leaving me a comment! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! My son and his bride of two months just arrived late last night from North Carolina, so I am still in the Christmas mode and mood! :) However, both of my good cameras broke yesterday, so my picture today is a bit dark, using a substitute camera. Got to take both cameras and my computer in to see what is up.  I got a Trojan virus yesterday from somewhere that shut down my desktop completely.  Of course nothing is backed up. BACK UP YOUR FILES TODAY! :)
Thank goodness for laptops.....

Stamps: Island Beauty by Rubber Stamp Tapestry
Paper: PTI Kraft, Very Vanilla, Not Quite Navy
Ink: VersaColor Lapislazuli, Bark, Laurel Leaf, Topaz
Accessories: Diamond Stickles, Cuttlebug EFs, white ric rac (Coat's), Chocolate Chip striped ribbon (SU), brads (The Paper Studio)

Merry Christmas to You

Merry Christmas to You! I am spending the day with my wonderful family, but wanted to share a Christmas wish with all of you. Thank you for your support of my blog and my stamping aspirations!

My mom collects Santas and I made this quick card for her using one of the images from Holiday Squares by I Brake For Stamps. She is getting a little Santa teapot with it!

Enjoy your day and if you are traveling, be safe!

It's Friday Friends With Flair at Unity Stamp Co., where addicted customers show off their Unity creations!

Visit the Unity blog to see the list of participating blogs in the hop today and what Friends With Flair is all about. You might win some Unity! The hop begins around 10AM CST.

I made my card using some things to help me think of warmer weather (including Unity KOTM stamps!). The Splitcoast Sketch Challenge 312 provided the layout idea. I flipped the sketch and changed the square to a circle. My card measures 5 inches square.

I used images from Unity Stamps and my paper is from My Mind's Eye. I crocheted the two little flowers (that is why my afghan I need for Christmas isn't done!). The newsprint is from the Agriculture section of my newspaper~

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Merry Christmas Eve to all!

It's FROSTY!

It's FROSTY inside and out today! 19 degrees to start this morning.  Not too bad!

After two days of non-seasonal cards, I am back to making a few more.  I made this for today's Splitcoast Ways To Use It Challenge. . . Make It Pop!

I popped up my snowman and also used glittered chipboard letters to make my "frosty" pop.

Image is from Holiday Squares by I Brake For Stamps. I colored it with Copics.
The snowman has my absolute favorite Twinkling Clouds Sparkle N Soft on him. Click on the picture below for a close-up of that sparkly frost!

I absolutely love the Sparkle N Soft product. It is like a fine flocking with glitter added.  See all of the colors HERE.

Smile....and Come To the Tea Party!

For Splitcoast Color Challenge 302 . . .
and Teapot Challenge 125 . . .
(To understand this crazy post, and to join in the Teapot Challenges, CLICK HERE.)

I don't draw or paint or anything like that. That is why I stamp!! But I didn't stamp on this card today either - I had a brand new package of the Stampin' Up! rub-ons that I bought a LONG time ago under my smock. I had never opened them, and decided that it was time that I did!

Our teapot cards today are going to Kris, who is having surgery on both hands this week. I have had trouble with my wrists and hands for several years and keep putting off the surgery. Today I woke up with a swollen left hand (all tingly), so I can so so empathize with Kris. I know she will feel better when it is all done. My card is going to her today!

May Arts lace trim, Ornare piercing template, Prima flowers, and Kaiser pearls finish the card.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Monkey Suits

So I had this pretty floral card all pictured in my head for Saturday's Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge {Don Cherry's Jackets} 263, when this monkey and sentiment from Hambo Stamps popped into my head.

Don Cherry has no lack of self-esteem and is a pretty confident guy to wear all those "monkey suits"!!

So my little monkey decided to make an appearance today, in honor of ALL the Don Cherry jackets --
but mostly the red velvet one HERE.

I stamped my image on three inchies (Inchie Arts) and then again on PTI White and cut him out. The background is a Tim Holtz embossing folder.

Thanks for looking! Have a GREAT day!

It's Paper Romance Challenge Day! And the Snow is Falling.....on my PAPER!

I must be on a snowman kick! I love snowmen and think they are so cute -- as long as they are on paper and not in my yard! I live in a cold, snowy place, but really prefer warmer weather. So I am happy to make lots of snow cards - and let the snow stay there!

This is for Bonnie's challenge at Paper Romance today.  This week’s challenge is called "The Backwards Color Challenge!"  Are you tired of using red and green on all of your Christmas creations? Well, take a break and let's see those Christmas cards made from any color but red or green! Come play along! You could win a $5 gift certificate to Paper Romance!

I also made my card for the Splitcoast Ways To Use It Challenge: All That Glitters. I used Dapper Dan Snowman by High Hopes (available at Paper Romance). Glitter is on each snowdrift, the "O" on SNOW , my snowflakes, and I also used Spica Glitter pens all over Dapper Dan! My glitter is Crystal Ice. CLICK on the picture above for a close-up of the glitzy glitter! I made my snowdrifts by tearing three pieces of Whisper White cardstock and then brushing them with Brushable Glue.  I dipped each edge in the Crystal Ice Glitter and let them dry before attaching to the card base.

Check out what the rest of the Paper Romance Design Team did HERE.

Inspired With Reindeer Collage

For today's Splitcoast Inspiration Challenge 262 . . .

I chose this dress (loved all of their dresses!) and then the card sort of took on a mind of its own as I realized I needed green and brown in there too!

My image is Reindeer Collage from I Brake For Stamps. I stamped my image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored it in using Copics. My Memory Box Twilight DP was run through my Cuttelbug and embossed, then sanded to bring out some of the white core of the paper. Click on the photo below for a close-up view.

For my challenge card today I used Kraftin' Kimmie's Birthday Friends and High Hopes Got Cake? These little mice are ready to celebrate with a deliciously sparkly cake. My Stamping Hero is Amy!

I have many people that I admire in the stamping world.  There is so much wonderful talent out there and so many creative women that I have met along the way.  But I would have to say, if I had to choose one, that my stamping hero is Amy Sheffer.  I have always admired her talent and eye for seeing things and actually getting them on paper (ha!) in such a beautiful way.

Today's Splitcoast Featured Stamper Challenge was #200 and we were challenged to choose any one of the 199 stampers that have been featured so far.

I chose this gorgeous Noel card of Amy's to case. I probably didn't change enough, but I changed the papers, ribbon type, die cut shape and image, and left off a couple of layers. Otherwise, it is definitely Amy's card - lovingly copied.
Click on this picture to see a close up of the detail on the "O."

Stamping Over Shopping!

Christmas Love Set by Rubber Stamp Tapestry
I imagine by now most of you have your shopping done.  I used to have mine done by Thanksgiving. The last few years I haven't because we have been involved in the community theatre productions and weekends are busy! This year we are doing "Inspecting Carol" - my husband plays Wayne Wellacre, a wannabe actor, and I am the Assistant Director for the show. So.....I think I have purchased two gifts! Eek! Better get that done soon....as in three weeks from now.  :)

But I always seem to want to stamp instead of venture out into the masses at the stores! I made this card for the SCS Ways To Use It Challenge 299: Using Letters. My letters are in the background of my stamped panel: L-O-V-E. The images are from a wonderful Rubber Stamp Tapestry set called Christmas Love.
The words stamps are actually two new offerings from RST: Together Block and Forever Block.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Stamps: Rubber Stamp Tapestry: SHO20014 Christmas Love, FSB39018 Forever Block Stamp, FSB39017 Together Block Stamp
