Me & You and Stamping Simply

It's Friday, and that means a Stamp Simply sharing day! Today's card is probably my favorite style to make. Lots of embellishments with pretty paper!
I started by choosing my designer paper: Kaisercraft Secret Admirer. Once I had chosen that, it was easy to match and contrast embellishments! I chose two trims, Orange May Arts 3/4" Striped Chevron Twill, and one of the Ivory Lace trims from Lace Cards by Kaisercraft.
I ruched my twill ribbon and then sewed up the middle using a decorative stitch on my sewing machine. I added the lace and a little doily I crocheted. Next came some gorgeous sugared flowers and leaves from Prima (Mini Rose Stems - Wishes & Dreams), a contrasting hot pink button to pick up some of the color in the designer paper, a little Aqua Baker's Twine, and then finally a sentiment from the Secret Admirer paper pad.
I used my Fiskars Non-Stick No. 8 Bent Scissors to cut my adhesives: 3D Foam Squares - 1/2" White and Scor-Tape. The teflon coating is great for non-stick cutting! Everything is mounted on a Kraft cardstock base. I love how this turned out!

Timeless Tuesday #235 - In Distress

My sweet friend, Deb, is our Hostess today for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #235. Her challenge is all about Distressing! Use your Distress inks, edge distressers, tear some paper, or distress a shabby chic style project.  Get in distress!
I chose Just My Type for my card today and decided to use some yummy pink goodness with it! Pink is my favorite color, and it always brings a smile to my face! I stamped the sentiment using Rose Bud ink. My pinking shears (found brand new - vintage - at an antique store!) made some fun edges and I used my distressing tool for some others. Everything is held together with Scor-Tape.
Read all about how to join the Timeless Tuesday challenge HERE. The rest of the team has some beautiful creations to show off, so please visit their blogs too!

A Festive Celebration

Today's Splitcoast Featured Stamper Challenge honors gabalot, with her lovely prolific gallery and fun, artsy style. I chose this Flowers for a Friend card for my inspiration.
I kept Gabby's three flowers and sentiment layout pretty close, but added some layers, embossing, and scoring. I changed images and colors and added a bow and pearls for embellishments.

My images are from Just Rite's Festive Poinsettia stamp set. I stamped on La Blanche Specialty Stamping Paper with Rich Razzleberry ink. I then scored three lines around the sentiment using my Scor-Pal Tool.
I matted the stamped panel with Prima Craftsman designer paper and mounted it on a white cardstock base embossed with the Regal M-Bossilbilities folder. I wanted a kind of subtle "fade in, fade out" look to the folder, so didn't have the embossing cover the entire piece of cardstock.
I finished off my card with a White Tulle bow and Snow Pearls. Everything is held together with 1/4" Scor-Tape. I like the simple elegance and CAS design. I hope you do too!

Watercolor and Flourishes Go Together!

Today's SCS Color Challenge is called "Elegant Mambo on the River" - meaning:
Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo, and River Rock!
I love this color combo and knew it would be perfect for some florals from Flourishes Old Fashioned Florals, available at i {heart} papers.
My floral image is stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black on watercolor paper, and then embossed with Clear embossing powder. I watercolored using reinkers and a tiny watercolor brush. The sentiment is stamped with Elegant Eggplant (SU!) ink. Everything is held together using ISP red-line tape. Check out all the Flourishes designs that IHP carries here~!

This is also for Flourishes' Timeless Tuesday Challenge #216 - Frame It!
I used Spellbinders Oval and Scalloped Oval dies to frame my pretty florals.

Hopping with Clearsnap and The {Stamps} of Life!

Today the fabulous Design Team from The {Stamps} of Life is hopping with Clearsnap to bring you some amazing goodies by Stephanie Barnard!
My card today uses one of the August releases (and the August Club Set!), snails2mail. I used one of Stephanie's Sprays, Sky, for my background. The snails are stamped with Licorice ink and then the shells were stamped in rainbow colors using Stephanie's Premium inks: Strawberry, Tangerine, Banana, Spearmint, Sky, Blueberry, and Grape. The sentiment is stamped with Strawberry ink.

My 1" Yellow Ric Rac from The Stamp Simply Ribbon store reminded me of a snail trail. I added some Cherry Baker's Twine for color contrast. A few red brads and all done!

Birds of Paradise

It's Friday, and that means it's time to share some more goodies from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. Today's card features a really neat Kanban stamp set called Birds of Paradise.
I stamped the bird image on a lovely piece of designer paper from Kaisercraft's Secret Admirer collection using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and then colored in with Copic markers. I added May Arts Turquoise Velvet and Kaisercraft's White Lace trims with Kaiser Snow Pearls
The beautiful flower is by Prima from the Queen Mary collection. I love those flowers! A little tulle bow under the flower and all done!

And on a fun note, last week's card using Stamp Simply goodies is featured today at Inspire Me Fridays HERE.

A Fall Deconstructed Sketch

It's Thursday and that means a new sketch
at The Deconstructed Sketch!
I love Jen's sketches. They are so easy to work with.
Here is this week's sketch #114!
I still had my Twiggy (Memory Box) designer paper out from a creation earlier this week, so decided to use it again for today's sketch. It is an older line, and I suppose I should be using it all up instead of hoarding it!
I chose a sentiment from the In Nature Flourishes set I had on my desk from Tuesday and used the paper as my "image."  The sentiment is stamped in Memento Espresso Truffle ink. Both the stamp set and ink is available at i {heart} papers. I added some fun Olive Pom Pom trim and paper flowers with a Latte button and twine bow.

I love seeing what the rest of the team creates, and how different the same sketch can look, so be sure to have a visit at their blogs too! To play along, link up HERE.

For today's Timeless Tuesday post, click here.

It's a Surprise Birthday Hop for Monica Hunter! Monica is the owner of Hambo Stamps and today is her birthday. The Bacon Bits Design Team got together and decided to throw a little surprise party for her, and we would like you to join us!

If you arrived here from Jeannie's blog, you are in the right place. Otherwise, start at the beginning with Deborah's blog so you don't miss out on any party fun. Every birthday has to have presents, and this one has one for you! One random hopper that completes the hop and comments on each blog will receive a Hambo Birthday surprise! The winner will be announced at the Hambo Hoedown on Wednesday, August 21.
Here is the hop order in case you get lost:
Deborah
Jane
Jeannie
My card today is made with one of Hambo's new releases: Big Giraffe (5116) and Age Spots (5115). It's no secret that I love giraffes, and this one is just adorable! I made a CAS design today, because I know Monica loves clean and simple designs! I stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored in with Copic markers. The inside says "At least they're not stripes." My "spotty" designer paper banners are from American Crafts.

Happy happy birthday, Monica!! Now hop on over to
Kendra's for more birthday fun!

August Hop with Really Reasonable Ribbon!

It's time to hop with Really Reasonable Ribbon! If you arrived here from Bonnie's blog, you are in the right place! If you just happened along, be sure to start at the beginning at the RRR Blog (I am the third stop, so you don't have far back to go!) so you don't miss out on the awesome projects, fun news, and a prize from Really Reasonable Ribbon! Our hop goes live at 6:30 AM CST.

Each 13th of the month it's the Really Reasonable Ribbon blog hop where we highlight the Ribbon Club! This month is a Pink & Brown Vintage Assortment:
If you really love ribbon and would like to have a wonderful assortment of ribbons sent to you automatically each month, just join the Really Reasonable Ribbon Club! Monthly ribbon club assortments are selected and pre-packed to reflect a specific theme, color, or holiday season. The assortments vary from month to month, but an average assortment has 5-9 different ribbon styles and consists of 10-15+ yards of ribbon.  You will love it! Tell Bonnie that Judy sent you!

My card today features a fun design by I Brake For Stamps. I stamped my images using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored in with Copic markers.
Since pink is my favorite color, I loved this month's assortment. I chose the Stitched Satin Pearl Pink for this card, and added some paper flowers and a pearl to the center.
And by the way, I love my mother, and would be honored to be like her!

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to comment along the way at all my amazing teammates' blogs for the awesome prizes from Really Reasonable Ribbon

Dare to Reach Out

Beginning today I will be sharing each Friday my creations made using lots of goodies from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. I am thrilled to be one of the new designers on Sharon's team, as she was one of the first people I "met" online when I discovered Splitcoast many moons ago.  What a sweetheart!

My card today is made using a variety of trims that you might not think would work together, but I surely love the look! I started out my choosing my background designer paper from the Prima Zephyr collection. I love all of the papers that Prima makes; the patterns are so unique.

I then stamped my sentiment from one of Our Daily Bread designs stamp sets, Keep My Lamp Burning. My favorite embellishment to add to any card is pearls, and this Kaisercraft Pearl Flourish was perfect. I layered Turquoise Ric Rac with Tangerine Seam Binding and fancy Lace with pearl center, and then added some beautiful Prima paper flowers to my seam binding bow.

Color Me Creative!

I am so happy to finally be sharing the news that I am joining Suzanne Dean's Color Me Creative Classroom Design Team!

I have LONG admired Suzanne's expertise and skills at using Copics, and I am thrilled to be on her team and learn from her!

The new CMC Challenge #74 is PERFECT for me -- just use pink! Since pink is my favorite color, this was a fun and easy challenge. I want to make everything pink :)

I have had a need for a few baby cards this summer, so I made an easel card using my favorite High Hopes giraffe, Stretch. I stamped him on Neenah Solar White with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then used Copic Markers to color him in. I used R81, R83, E13 and E15. My designer paper is by K & Co.

CMC is sponsoring this challenge, and you have until August 16 to play along. One winner will receive one of Suzanne's Copic classes FREE!

Thanks for stopping by today!
